SUMMER IS A CHARMING LASS.
Summer is a charming lass
Skipping barefoot through the grass.
Rosy-cheeked and windswept hair
Spreading sunshine everywhere.
Up and down the fields and hills,
Magic colors Summer spills.
Flowers bloom so bright and gay,
Beauty blesses Summer's way.
Butterflies with gossamer wings
Follow Summer as she springs
Here and there throughout the day,
Calling children out to play.
Smiling, as she skips along,
Bids birds sing their sweetest song.
Fleecy clouds in azure sky
Wink at Summer from on high.
Summer is a peaceful lass
Spinning dreams on banks of grass,
Where the weeping willow grows
And a quiet river flows.
Summer knows a deep content
Found in lovely moments spent
Weaving hours of calm delights...
Golden days and silver nights.

SWEET, SWEET, SUMMER.
Summer is captured so sweet in my mouth
by a peach from the old peach tree,
And is carried along, then in my ears,
by the buzz of the honeybee!
The weeds in the fields often scratch up my legs
but to me that's a "never mind,"
As I wander out there, sweet air in my face -
Summer is my kind of time!
The sun in its glory will ripen my face
to the color of full-budded wheat;
While the busy corn runs, glad fingers down,
to hunt earth that is cooling and deep.
These favorite days are so quickly away -
but still I am ever so glad
That God in His bounty has given us Summer,
and it's something each year that we have!

LAUGHTER OF LILACS.
Rainbows of roses.
Songs of the robins.
Lily of the valley borders.
Sunshine to warm the heart.
Oh what joy this season does impart!
~~By Anne Morrow Lindberg.~~

THE WARMTH OF AN ARBOR.
The birds are chirping their songs of joy,
The flowers are spraying their pleasant aroma
of happiness into the air,
The grass is green instead of hibernating
under the blanket of winter snow,
The sky is a bright blue with white billowy clouds.
It is the summer before the fall.
Doom and gloom of winter is across the horizon.
Only bright colors, sounds, and smells are everywhere.
Enjoy these lazy days of September.
The sun, the squirrels, the warmth.
This too shall pass.
The harshness of the "hawk" is approaching.

SUMMER GARDENING.
Balm brings you sympathy and Marjoram joy.
Sage is long life...Sweet Woodruff for health..
A blessing far richer than wealth.
While Lavendar means deep devotion.
Herbs of seet omen, Rosemary conveys
Affection and remembrance for all of your days.
May Heaven and Earth and Man combine
To keep those blessings every thine.

SUMMERTIME.
Come with me, no shoes allowed, let's go barefoot in the grass.
Hold my hand, as we remember, all the summers of the past.
Eating ice cream in the sunshine, as it dribbles down our arms.
Playing hopscotch and singing songs, Like "Old Mcdonald had a farm".
Orange soda and kool-aid pops and cooking hotdogs on the grill.
Trying to see who the strongest was, who would be King of the Hill?
Sitting by the lakeside, squishing sand between our toes.
Chasing fireflies in the night sky, never knowing why they glowed.
Summer rains that gently fell and washed my little face.
Sitting down at supper time, with family saying grace.
Thank you Lord for giving me these precious memories.
Older now but remembering, with every summer breeze.

TWO POEMS ABOUT THE MONTH OF JUNE.
I knew that you were nearing, June,
and I knew that you were nearing--
I saw it in the bursting buds of roses in the clearing;
The roses in the clearing, June, were blushing pink and red,
For they had heard upon the hills the echo of your tread.
~~By Douglas Mallock.~~

And what is so rare as a day in June?
Then, if ever, come perfect days;
Then Heaven tries earth if it be in tune,
And over it softly her warm ear lays;
Whether we look, or whether we listen,
We hear life murmur, or see it glisten.
~~By James Russell Lowell.~~

LAST POEM FOR JUNE.
You always come back in the spring,
A warm puppy, a cuddly thing.
Reminds me of you, kittens too
A time for life to start anew.
The fragrance of your fresh new hay
Wafts me back to that boyhood day.
In Granddad's barn I'd spend an hour,
Aroma sweeter than a flower.
Your buzzing bees and brilliant sun
Said nothing mattered but having fun.
So lovely now and way back then,
I'm glad you'll always return again.

SPRING GOES, SUMMER COMES.
The Little darling Spring,
Has run away;
The sunshine grew too hot for her to stay.
She kissed her sister, Summer,
And she said:
"When I am gone, you must be queen instead."
Now reigns the Lady Summer,
Round whose feet
A thousand fairies flock with blossoms sweet.

SUMMER QUOTES.
"Summer afternoon, summer afternoon;
to me those have always been
the two most beautiful words
in the English language."
~~By Henry James.~~
