SONG FOR SPRING.

It's almost here - It's safe to say.
I saw a Crocus yesterday -
Its' colors bright - A lovely thing.
My heart Rejoiced! 'Twil soon be Spring!

The winter blues will soon be gone.
And birds will soon burst forth in song.
The coralbells will gently ring.
The Daphne yells "It's almost Spring!"

It's neary here! It's coming fast!
The Robins will appear at last.
Oh Wonderous Joy! I too shall sing!
And join in Nature's "Song for Spring".

FLOWERS BLOOM.

Flowers blooming
brilliant reds, yellow, and purple.
Trees are budding.
Birds are chirping,
New life abounds.
The Earth warms and renews itself.
Good bye winter,
Hello spring.

ESSENCE OF SPRING.

Early one bright morning
I stepped outside the door
I noticed something different
I didn't see before.

The cold winds of winter
Blow gentler towards Spring
All around me becomes renewed
For every living thing.

I hear a new melody
From high up in the trees
The one only a bird can sing
A song especially for me.

The smells,the sights,the wonders
Seems to be all around
Just step outside into nature
See the wonders that abound.

AN AFTERNOON AT THE LAKE.

I sit by the lake on this wondrous day
watching reflections of flowering bushes
rippling past watching appreciative eyes.

Breathing in the smell of this glorious spring,
as chattering frogs and birds sing
their way of celebrating this new season.

The lush green forest surrounds and protects me.
Soft white clouds in the blue sky above
play peek- a -boo with the bright yellow sun.

I feel a peaceful feeling over taking me
and my spirits seem to soar from within,
just like the Eagle circiling..floating above.

The wind softly whispers through the trees
as I rest on the soft green bed beneath me
drinking it all in..glad to be one with Nature.

SPRING HOPE.

In the clear light of spring a fresh hope gleams.
With a sweet birdsong at the birth of days.
I wake from winter sleep's pall of dark dreams,
Rising, squinting in the morning gold rays.
As green buds burst on trees, no longer bare,
At last, after the long silence of snow,
Urgent sounds of life sing in the crisp air.
To music in the melting water's flow.
Making promises of the summer sun,
In warm beams, though shadows are still too cold,
Nature knows, the battle is nearly won,
When frost turns dew as winter loses hold.
And with one season to forget the pain,
I am ready to fall in love again.

THE YEAR'S AT THE SPRING....

The Year's at the spring
And the day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn:
God's in his heaven--
All's right with the world!

THE NEWS IS OUT!

The news is out....
It's time to sing.....
Time to be happy and WELCOME
The Ides of March we should not fear
Because we know that spring is near.
In like a lion......out like a lamb.
Old Man Winter.........we say "Scram".
The streams are full from the melted snow.
Soon will be time to plant and to hoe.
The birds are chirping high in the tree.
Spring is arriving.....that we can see.
Flowers rising from their wintry beds
Crocus and tulips raising their heads.
Bunnies hopping around in the clover.
At long last..........Winter is Over.

WELCOME TO SPRING.

Sweep the snow
And clean the ice,
Spring is coming to town.
To Winter, Winter
We say goodbye;
Too long it's been around.
She'll dress the trees
With buds and leaves
And flower all the land.
She'll bring with her
The peepers, bees. . .
They'll be the Springtime band.
Ready your heart
With gladsome song,
For Springtime soon we'll greet.
Welcome her here,
Make her belong. . .
Before she takes her leave.

THE GENTLE RAINS OF SPRING.

Come to wash away December's somber brown and gray.
My heart, my life Quicken at the tug of the Wind,
Pulling, teasing my soul,
Reminding me the world is about to be reborn,
All blue and green and gay.
Jonquils are pushing through the crust of sleep,
That has imprisoned them so long,
And soon birds will sing again in budding dogwood trees.
The wind burns my eyes,
Tearing away the film of wintry despair,
And lets me see again how beautiful the earth can be.
And as my life is washed clean,
I see once more love before me,
Soft and warm, fragile and delicate,
yet growing stronger in the springtime sun.

SPRING···

Oh, how I long for the time when flowers are in bloom,
and for the time when all the sun's rays zoom.

When all of the winter's slush and snow are banned,
and when the birds can try their hand.

I long for a time when the grayness of winter disappears,
and then the birds' sweet songs, I hear.

The time for these things are just around the corner, I know,
but for now, the chilly winds continue to grow.

The leaves on the trees slowly flutter to the ground,
not making even the faintest whisper of a sound.

The snow blankets the frozen earth,
making people long for the the next season's birth.

But alas, the cold winter days are not yet through,
but do not despair, for the sky will soon be blue.

So until the winter days have past,
we'll have to wait out the winter, as we have winters past.

SOMETHING SPECIAL HAS AWAKENED.

In hearts that share a common soul.
Beneath a starry sky it moves
As surely as the coming dawn,
Breaking ever so slowly, yet
Bursting forth in glorious warmth.

Then spring will warm to summer's heat
With fire fueled by love, found fresh
In the morning meadow, all green.
The winter of their lives is o'er.
And a moment has begun that
Will hide within their hearts no more.

Run joyously and sieze the day!
Love leaps from every blade of grass,
Shines brightly in the sunlit dew,
Awaiting love's empassioned kiss.
For distance can not hold apart
Love forged before the dawn of spring.

The yellow sun shines on us both
And nurtures with its seering heat.
Some might wilt, but if we dare, then,
Will our love and spirits grow.
The light that shines has given us
Our season none too late, my love.

THE FIRST SIGNS OF SPRING.

On the ground the snow is almost gone.
Winter staying here seemed so long.
Patches of ice is still showing up everywhere.
I still want to bundle up like a bear.

Many birds are singing it sounds so great.
Now to get my fishing box ready and bait.
Several cars are getting in the washing line,
To get their cars buffed and clean with a shine.

No more worry about frozen car doors,
And taking a mop every day to the floors.
We can put away the heavy coats and boots,
It makes you want to give out hollers and hoots.

It feels good to be out walking in the sun.
Kids can play outside more often and run.
The potholes seem to be on every street,
To try and miss them is quite a feat.

A good feeling to kick off that brownish sludge,
Some of the ice doesn't want to budge.
The air smells so fresh and clean,
It makes some not so tired and mean.

The ground looks sloppy with watery mud.
Maybe anytime the trees will bud.
A trip to the store, park just anywhere to go.
The temperatures now will not be so low.

We can open our car windows at long last.
Many radios are blaring at a loud blast.
There's a neighbor outside going jogging.
Hurrah no more heat and windows fogging.

What nice weather to walk the dog.
I now sleep better at night like a log.
Some green of the grass is now showing,
Pretty soon it will need raking and mowing.

I can't hardly wait for the flowers to grow.
No more walking in the deep snow.
Looking in the seed catalog I feel I've been born,
It will be beets carrots tomatoes and corn.

The bikes now come out of the basement.
Where's the directions to put up the tent.
Going to the boat show is great fun.
We need more pop hot dogs and buns.

I still love those dairy queen cones.
Now will see many portable phones.
Many kids are on the basketball court.
Across the street I still see a melting fort.

This is a happy time of the year its spring.
Warm weather can make you like to sing.
I want to spend a lot of time outside.
And take some kids in wagon for a ride.

THERE IS SPRING.

Where there are love and generosity, there is joy.
Where there are sincerity and sacrifice, there is friendship.
Where there are harmony and simplicity, there is beauty.
Where there are prayer and forgiveness, there is peace.
Where there are moderation and patience, there is wisdom.
Where there are conflicts and crises, there is opportunity.
Where there are wonder and adventure, there is growth.
Where there are adoration and confession, there is worship.
Where there are compassion and concern, there is God.
Where there are faith and hope, there is spring.

SPRING FEVER.

In seasons Spring's the best of all
Its wonder seems to shout,
For now's the time all life begins
The greens of earth now sprout.

We feel the wonder all around
All things begin to grow,
The still of winter's all but gone
Warm breezes start to blow.

The rains begin to nourish
All buds begin to swell,
The trees now start to flourish
The flowers cast their smell.

Anticipation starts to mount
We long to feel the heat,
To shed the boots, and bare our toes
Feel sand beneath our feet.

It's worth it all, the wait I mean
We know there is a reason,
For waiting just around the bend
Is Spring, my favorite season....

ODE TO SPRINGTIME.

Oh, springtime..sweet springtime you're finally here!
The snow is all gone and the skies are so clear.
The robins are back from their winter retreat.
The air is so fresh and the flowers are sweet.
I've waited so long for your joyous return.
All through the winter Oh, how I did yearn.
To witness the spendor that only you bring.
The bursting of color a new song to sing.
You warm up the air and the soil of the earth.
To renewal and beauty you glady give birth.
No other season can rival your deeds.
You wash away gloom, you fulfill many needs.
Your rains cleanse the air of the winters bleak look.
You loosen it's grip on each babbling brook.
You wake all of nature from it's winter sleep.
(Even the insects that we wish you'd keep).
You bring forth the blooming of flowers and trees.
You dust winters' ashes with your gentle breeze.
Your crocus and tulips and daffodills too.
Put on quite a show with their coloful hue.
The birds sing your praises with songs crisp and clean.
Oh, springtime sweet spring you're a glorious thing.
You work your magic oh, so well.
There's just one mystery.
You bring such beauty to the world.
Why can't you work on me?(hehe).

Have a wonderful Spring!!

SPRINGTIME PROMISE.

The snow's beginning to melt,
leaving dirty footprints all around.
A gentle hush fills the air,
with an undercurrent of life that stirs.
Around me there are signs.
That which was quiet, now awakens.
Even my heart begins to stir with the promise of Spring.

The wind has a sweeter fragrance as it stirs in the dawning of Spring.
There's a hint of longer days as the sun lingers in the sky.
The birds display themselves just a little more these days,
and I'm seeing a few new faces and feathers at the feeders.

Spring holds such a promise of tomorrow.
Gentle rains will soon come and nourish the seedlings to life.
The warmth of the sun will beckon the life out of everything vital.

The lake will moan with the heaving and tossing of its ice,
shedding its layers one by one, as the sun warms its surface.
Oh the promise of days swimming and fun at the beach,
but for now that will wait for the shedding of a few more layers.

I love how the trees struggle for recognition of Spring.
You can almost see their branches reaching to the sun for warmth,
wanting so much to begin to show their buds and get on with life.

Such a glorious time.
Such a rebirth for each of us.
Such a promise.
The softness is all around me with the sweet promises of tomorrow.

The Springtime Promise.

AWAKEN IT IS SPRING.

Awaken It Is Spring
There's not a shiver in the air
This early springtime day,
There's only sunshine everywhere,
A gentle breeze at play.
There's not a cloud in the sky
And not a sign of snow,
And not a trace of wintertime
No matter where you go.
There's not a tree that doesn't know
It's time for changing green,
And not a stream that doesn't flow,
A bird that doesn't sing...
Just lots of robins everywhere,
Such happiness supreme,
The world has come to life again,
The air is fresh and clean.
There's not a bit of Winter's ice
And March has blown his last.
We're very certain it is Spring
And wintertime is past,
For April smiled on us today
From out a rippling stream,
And whispered upon a soft, warm breeze,
"Awaken! It is Spring."

THE SMELL OF NEW SWEETGRASS IS IN THE AIR.

The smell of new sweetgrass is in the air.
Excitement of life stirs all through the meadow.
The birds are searching for materials to
make their homes for their new offspring.
Bees become sleepily stirred by
the wonderful smells of fresh nectar.

It's a wonderful day to stroll with a friend...
Wake up the senses...feel new again.
A fresh start fills the winds, as Spring beckons regrowth,
renewed spirit and renewed hopes.

To the robin and the bluebird
To the honeybees and treefrogs..
Welcome back to Springtime..
Welcome back from your long winters rest..
to the warmth of the shining sun.

WHEN SPRING COMES.

When Spring comes
The sun takes its place
As a comforter to the world.
It sends its hot rays
And makes a blanket
Around the cool earth.

The ground feels soft again,
There are fairy rings on the grass,
Crocuses are popping out of their beds-
Little fairies dressed in yellow.

Spring has a happy thought
Of seeing flowers and leaves sprout;
Mother Nature is painting the grass and trees green again;
And when we walk in the rain
We can smell the spring coming.

Spring makes us think
That summer is on its way,
With the busy times
When all the animals
Are feeding their young,
And the birds
Are on their nests.

We trust spring-
That it will bring us
Warmth and happiness;
We feel free
When spring is here.

THE MARCH ANGEL.

The march Angel brings to us stamina and courage. As the long winter ends, we take heart from the crocuses that push their heads up through the snow.

The angel of March cheers us through life's frozen moments, boosting our morale and helping us achieve new landmarks. With the angel's help, we dare to break through whatever barrier, whether personal belief or lack of self confidence, that holds us back. We gather the will to launch a lifelong dream or begin the project we have envisioned, but never dared to tackle.

As the sun begins to warm up our spirits, the March angel rejoices with us at the first sign of spring and gives us courage to prepare for a new and daunting, and yet fulfilling task.

THE ANGEL OF APRIL.

The angel of April is the spirit of rebirth.

As the days grow longer and the sun begins to warm us and the earth, April is a time for new life and new beginnings. The angel of April spurs us to test ourselves in new direction and to make ourselves vulnerable in the face of unfamiliar people, situations and places. Encouraged by the April angel, we search for new and novel endeavors that will enrich our lives and bring new meaning to our career or family roles.

The April angel teaches us to delight with each sign of awakening, in nature and within ourselves.

THE ANGEL OF MAY.

The Angel of May brings the blush and promise of spring. May's angel rejoices with us as we take heart at the sight of trees and shrubbery in bloom and relish our anticipation of the fruits to come.

This angel of spring reminds us that this is the time of awakening the seed within ourselves. Perhaps we have a deep longing, an artistic talent unexplored, or a friendship never quite attempted.

The angel of May will help us to discover this potential, nurturing our spirits so we can dare to fulfill this hidden promise and issue forth the fruits of a life fully lived.

SPRING.

The things that remind me of spring
are the butterflies and their colorful wings.
When I look at the sky,
and one flies by.
I know it is finally spring!

GOD PAINTED THE HILLS.

God painted the hills in splendor today,
He tucked every sign of Winter away,
The brown of the earth - each path that we trod
Kissed by the wonderful magic of God.

God painted the world in a beautiful green
He touched every hilltop - each valley below
And added a sunbeam to set it aglow.

Then roses and rainbows and breezes that sigh
So much hearts can cherish - a bright, smiling eye,
Life's lovely dreams that the heavens fulfill
Because God painted His beautiful Hills.

COME QUICKLY APRIL.

Come quickly, April, and melt the snow
Which covers the path where I must go.
Awaken the crocus and daffodils,
And summon bluebird unto the hills.
Spring forth with buds upon every tree,
And paint a bright rainbow just for me!

Awaken the rose and marigold
As clear, sunny days start to unfold,
And sprinkle the daisies with morning dew
As God resurrects everything new.
Come quickly April and blow me a kiss
It just doesn't get any better than this!

THE MARRIAGE OF SPRING.

Blustery March blew into town
With wind howling like a gale,
Breaking branches from the trees
Anb frightening the old and frail.
He rattled around all over town
He huffed and puffed and whirled.
Then settled down on dusty ground
To give it one last twirl!
But suddenly he knew that he
Was sensing some fine pain.
He blew about and blundered into
April's first fine rain.
Now April is a gentle maid
With robins in her hair.
She's fair of face and full of grace
With violet eyes that care.
Her lacy gowns of verdant green
Are such a lovely sight.
That when you see her passing by
It makes your heart take flight.
Her manner is so charming
It truly warms your heart.
For she is the enchantress
Who gives Spring its lovely start.
Now March had given though to this
Plans to change his life.
So he asked sweet dainty April
To become his gentle wife.
And, so in love, these two were wed
One beautiful day in June.
Latest word from the grapevine is
They are still on their honeymoon.
Next time you hear the howling winds
Of March be not afraid.
But remember that March lost his heart
To sweet April~the gentle maid~.

SPRING FERVOR.

I woke up early one morning
And I found in my heart it was Spring,
For I felt the signs of its fervor,
The urge to change everything.
I opened the doors and windows
That were closed so long in my heart.
I knew it was now or never,
So this was the day to start.
I dusted the nooks and crannies
That had gathered with gloom and despair
And suddenly felt much better
As I breathed the new Spring air.
I moved all my ill-harbored feelings,
As I needed the room to store
Only God's heavenly sunshine
As I opened wide the door.
Now I could see the new flowers,
Now I could hear the birds sing,
But most of all I could welcome
My God, like the first day of Spring.

SPRINGTIME PARADISE.

I walked with Spring along a path
Where roses took a dew-dropped bath,
Where lilacs' white and purple hues
Salute the day with rave reviews.

I danced with Spring along a creek
Where frisky frogs played hide-and-seek,
Where dogwood trees wore lacy gowns
Neath canopies of cotton crowns.

The earth stood still, my cares took flight;
My soul was filled with pure delight.
I walked with Spring where Nature trod
And gazed upon the face of God.

FOREVER SPRING.

Spring comes on forever,
A rebirth upon the land,
The wondrous greening season
That God has kindly planned.
The days grow warm and mellow,
Birds fill the air with cheer,
Everything seems magical,
The skies are azure clear.
Flowers burst in beauty,
Sweet aroma scents the air,
Playful breezes waft about,
The meadows emeralds wear.
Spring comes on forever
To merry, languid hearts,
With sense of great renewal
And the joy that it imparts.

Golden in the sun,
Crocuses are calling out
Spring has just begun!
