LEAVES OF AUTUMN.
As summer turns to Autumn
The leaves begin to turn.
About God's love and beauty
This is the time to learn.
Just look outside your window
At colors bright and bold.
Leaves of red and orange and brown
And some look like pure gold.
You say you don't believe in God?
I say, how can you doubt?
When you go to your window
And simply just look out.
Outside my kitchen window
A tree grow's strong and tall.
It brings such joy and peace of mind
To watch leaves of Autumn fall.
It sways in winds but never falters.
And from it's pattern never alters.
It must be God no man can say
I made that tree to look that way.
The sun rays form a halo
Around that big strong tree.
And there's a voice that seem's to say
Look up and think of Me.

AUTUMN.
Colorful leaves falling down,
touching the ground, turning around,
Autumn.
Pumpkin pies, dreadful skys,
Autumn.
Jack - o - lanterns glowing bright,
Got a hat, hold on tight,
Autumn.
Shorter days, football plays,
Autumn.
Goblins, ghost, witch's toast,
Autumn.

HELLO AUTUMN.
I hear the songs, of autumn singing,
The wind, it hurries through the trees.
The air is getting crisper daily,
A chilly nip, is in the breeze.
The katydids, in raspy chorus,
and crickets too, join in the song.
Reminder that, there comes upon us,
another season, won't be long.
The birds now gather, for their journey,
they gossip loudly, as they fly.
Their destination, still uncertain,
just heading south, to warmer skies.
And even butterflies, are going,
their darting seems, to have no plan.
But if we study them, more closely,
they're headed south, to warmer land.
The forest dressed, in all its splendor,
intoxicating, views abound.
All up and down, our lovely valley,
and mountain sides, of country towns.
The leaves are searching, for a new home,
they flutter down, on wings of gold.
The trees they left, are looking lonesome.
abandoned soon, to winters cold.
The pumpkins waiting, for the kitchen,
with shocks of corn, in fields once green.
The season soon, will call together,
our friends and kin, so long unseen.
Boots and mittens, make their showing,
with Christmas things, on shelves in stores.
Lawn mowers now, go on vacation,
snow shovels soon, prepare for chores.
There seems to be, a certain sadness,
another year, has come and gone.
The next one waits, around the corner,
adventures new, and memories born.
Already daffodils, are planning,
to welcome back, from its sojourn.
Their faces searching, toward the heavens,
first robin here, on its return.

FALL PROMISE.
Trees arrayed in gowns all bright,
Geese that honk in southern flight,
Nippy nights and brisk fall days -
Earth with beauty is ablaze.
Farmers gather in their yields
Children play in leaves fresh raked,
Begging fall's last apples baked.
Earth is fired with gold and red,
Though she soon will be put to bed.
God gives vivid promise true -
Spring will see earth born anew.

THE CHANGING SEASONS.
The air turns cool, the leaves turn brown,
A change is taking place,
And everywhere the signs appear
Of Fall's approaching face.
The birds begin their southward flight
That takes them far away,
And in their plaintive song and cry
A fond good-bye they say.
A season dies, a new one's born
Like night gives way to day.
Such is the wondrous work of God
In His own chosen way.

AUTUMN GLORY.
Today I saw such splendor
And heard the murmur of the trees
As I walked through autumn's glory,
Finding treasures in the leaves.
Through gold of elm and hackberry
And the firethorn's tawny shade,
While the maples added brilliance
Like bright banners on parade.
October brings fulfillment
To the promise of the spring.
Now the fields are ripe for harvest;
Indian summer reigns supreme.
All the land is paying tribute
To the summer's fruitful year;
It's the season of Thanksgiving
For autumn gifts garnered here

A AUTUMN WALK.
Could this little old road be luring me now
Deep into autumn's fold;
Through the glorious light of the noonday sun
That illumines the trees of gold?
Through the vista that wanders and curves its way
Along the dreaming hill;
Through a radiant wood of leaves and boughs
That ring with the warblers' trill?
Could this little old road be enticing me now
Through the Indian summer heat,
Where the meadows are spawling with flowers and grass,
And the orchard is mellow-sweet?
Where the faraway hill stirs and glistens anew
In the beautiful autumn glow?
Could this little old road be beckoning now--
My heart is eager and I must go!

GOD'S GOLD.
Oh, the glory of this autumn day,
When the trees unfold their gold!
Oh, how lifted is my spirit, Lord,
When such beauty I behold!
Like precious coins, each leaf holds on
Through sunshine, fog, or haze;
The memory of this rich display
Will warm my winter days.

AUTUMN LEAVES.
SWEEP the leaves together,
Yellow, brown and red,
Let us make a bonfire
Now that they are dead.
Chestnut leaves and beech leaves,
Ash and lime and oak,
Fir-cones and pine needles
Kindle into smoke.
Leaves that all the summer
Gave us cool and shade--
What will be left of them
When our bonfire's made?
Only death-like ashes,
But from this same dust
Suns one day will fashion
Life anew, we trust.

WHO HAS SEEN THE WIND.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling
The wind was passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads
The wind is passing by.
~~By Christina Rossetti.~~

THE OAK.
"DEAR me, how nice this rain is," said the Oak,
"I hope at last we're in for a good soak;
My leaves were getting dusty, and my roots
Felt like a tired man's toes inside his boots!"
~~Author Unknown.~~

FALL.
Rain on my window
tapping a sound.
Wind in my hair
moves it around.
Miss all the summer
lovely and bright.
Take out a candle
watch the warm light.

THE COLORS OF FALL.
Filling the sky with crimson and gold,
Leaves scatter without a sound.
Carelessly dancing in the crisp autumn air,
they gently cascade to the ground.
Covering the earth like a warm blanket,
of brilliant color and beauty,
the changing of the season beckons
for all the world to see.

MASTERWORKS.
In Autumn when the leaves turn brown
And red and gold, they all fall down.
To paint a picture, oh so rare!
I know that God is there...
To mastermind His ebb and flow;
To stage His wondrous Autumn show,
To brush His skies with molten gold;
I watch His art unfold.
No grander sight could I behold:
These leaves of brown and red and gold.
But Winter bodes its icy chills
Upon the snow-clad hills.
In time the land, a living scene,
Comes bursting forth in savage green;
And I confront the season's thieves
That took my Autumn leaves.
But soon a softness in the air!
God paints a picture, oh so rare
Of Autumn leaves that all turn brown
And red and gold as they fall down.

AUTUMN LEAVES.
Autumn leaves are praying: "Let us stay a while.
Give us one more chance to see the sun."
Still the trees are swaying, No one hears the cry.
Out of sight the days of summer run.
Winterstorms are roaring, blowing all the leaves away
leaving branches dark and bare no matter what they try to say.
Nature is dying, I say farewell
feeling more sad inside than I can say.

SAVOURING SEPTEMBER.
If summer is a symphony,
September is a minuet.
Though September plays host to summer's end.
There is a delicacy as the first leaf falls gracefully
From a tree.
There is a quietude in our spirits
As twilight descends ever so much earlier.
We remember we picked up our books
And returned to school.
We recall how lovely it was
To walk in the late afternoon
Surrounded by such beauty,
Of autumn's splendor.
And the first time we needed that
Gorgeous sweater.
And we gather in
During this golden time
To our private places,
And to our ultimate thoughts.
We seek our joys by the fireplace,
Rekindled after its summer rest.
And gather in the beauty
And treasure every moment
Of this golden time of year!
~~Author Unknown.~~

SUMMER TIME IS GONE MY FRIENDS.
Summer time is gone my friends
It slowly comes but quickly ends.
It's been replaced by time called Autumn.
Nature changes hues from top to bottom
Green gives way to red and gold.
A lovely vision to behold.
Whirling leaves go blowing by
Carrying smells of pumpkin pie.
The air turns crisp the sky fades grey.
Indian corn and bales of hay.
Overcoats and apple cider.
No more evenings on the glider.
The harvest moon so orange and round
Holidays will soon abound.
Chrysanthemum petals start to unfold
A lovely vision to behold.

THANKSGIVING.
The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway ---
Thanksgiving comes again!

THE COLOURS OF AUTUMN.
As I was walking down the street,
Something fell beside my feet.
I stopped and looked into the air,
Leaves were falling everywhere!
Brown, yellow, red, orange, gold, and green . . .
The colors of autumn;
An awesome scene!

AUTUMN LEAVES. poem 1.
The autumn leaves are falling,
and they're scattered on the ground,
It's time to clean them up, I guess,
but my rake can't be found!
Maybe I loaned it out last year --
when this chore was finally done.
I suppose I'll just go shopping,
and buy another one.
The leaves look very pretty,
as they pile up outside.
But imagining all the work ahead,
I think that I should hide!
The colors are fantastic --
yellow, orange, red and gold,
They really are a lovely site --
to gaze on and behold.
I remember, in my younger days
(and that was long ago),
Looking forward to the falling leaves,
and, yes, even the snow.
So as I rake them up this year,
and tidy up the yard,
I'll pretend I'm back in high school,
and the work won't be that hard!
~~By Helen.~~

AUTUMN LEAVES. poem 2.
One of the nicest beds I know
isn't a bed of soft white snow,
isn't a bed of cool green grass
after the noisy mowers pass,
isn't a bed of yellow hay
making me itch for half a day--
but autumn leaves in a pile that high,
deep, and smelling like fall, and dry.
That's the bed where I like to lie
and watch the flutters go by.

AUTUMN.
Autumn winds begin to blow;
Colored leaves fall fast and slow.
Twirling, whirling all around.
Till at last, they touch the ground.
~~Author Unknown~~

AUTUMN GLOW.
Autumn is here, the leaves are turning,
Some so brightly they seem to be burning.
There's yellow, orange and bright red too,
All painted against a lovely sky of blue.
Every colour there is taken from the rainbow,
From up on the mountain to the valley below.
How do we rate? This is mad with love,
By our great creator in the heavens above.
For us all to see; the beauty is there,
Through all this we know He does care.
The earth is warmed by the sun's hot rays.
So we have cool nights and warmer days.
All we have to do is slow down our pace,
Quit racing around in such a terrible haste.
For on a cold night will come a frost,
And this will come with quite a cost.
Then we will find the trees will be bare,
No more brilliant colours will we see there.
So enjoy it now. In it take pleasure,
Because autumn is here for us to treasure.

AUTUMN WHISPER.
The wind dances with branches on trees.
The air stirs as it mingles with leaves.
The gray sky cries tears from above.
Another Autumn, it's the season I love.
Whisper to me that all is not lost.
Show me your mystery, without much cost.
Tell me your secrets, share your story.
The radiant colors show all your glory.
Orange, red, yellow and brown.
The landscape is dressed in your gown.
The aroma of fall, how I love the smell.
The sounds in my ear tell me all is well.
Days are so short, and soon we will part.
The night air is cool, soothing to my heart.
I'll wait to embrace you, year after year,
When I'm in your arms, I feel no fear.
