Once at the end of the rainbow, there lived a poor shoemaker and his
wife. They lived in a one room cottage and could barely make ends
meet. But, no matter how little they had, they always shared a wee bit
of food and ale with the leprechauns.

One day, the shoemaker came home from his shop early. His wife was very
surprised as he told her the good news. A rich man had put in an order
for a whole shop of shoes! But all the shoes had to be made in three
days time. The shoemaker and his wife celebrated that night and the
next morning, the shoemaker rose from his bed early and went to work.

On the night of the third day, the shoemaker was in a state of despair.
He was no where near getting the shoes completed! He kept working late
into the night, but, alas! exhaustion finally got the best of the poor
shoe maker, so he locked up his shop and headed home to tell his wife
that they would very soon be without anything at all.

But the leprechaun people did not forget the kindness of the shoemaker
and his wife. After the shop had closed for the night, the leprechauns
came out and began to work on the shoes...

The next morning, the shoemaker rose from his bed and sadly went to his
shop to face the rich man whose shoes he had not completed. Great was
his surprise when he opened his shop to find all the shoes completed!
The rich man was so pleased that he paid the shoemaker more money than
they had agreed to. After that day, the shoemaker became very, very
rich and never had to worry about money again. But he and his wife
never forgot their friends, the leprechauns.
