Silently, one by one,
in the infinite meadows of heaven,
blossomed the lovely stars,
the forget-me-nots of the angels...

~By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow from EVANGELINE~

Forget-me-not (Myosotis) -

I love this plant,
beautiful, delicate, pale, misty blue flowers,
that drift like clouds
over nearly all our gardens
in the Spring.

The plant declares true love,
and as every gardener knows
who has ever tried to get rid of them
- constancy:-)

As I have said I like this plant...
but guess what...my hubby is not so keen LOL :-))

FORGET-ME-NOT

When to the flowers
so beautiful the Father gave a name,
Back came a little blue-eyed one
(All timidly it came);
And standing at its Father's feet
and gazing in His face,
It said, in low and trembling tone
and with a modest grace,
"Dear God, the name Thou gavest me,
Alas I have forgot!"
Kindly the Father looked him down
and said: "Forget-me-not."

FORGET-ME-NOT FAIRY

Where do fairy babies lie
Till they're old enough to fly?
Here's a likely place, I think,
'Mid these flowers, blue and pink,
(pink for girls and blue for boys:
Pretty things for babies' toys!)
Let us peep now, gently. Why,
Fairy baby, here you lie!

Kicking there, with no one by,
baby dear, how good you lie!
All alone, but, you're not -
You could never be - forgot!
O how glad I am I've found you,
With Forget-me-nots around you,
Blue, the colour of the sky!
Fairy baby, Hushaby!

The Song of the FORGET-ME-NOT FAIRY

So small, so blue, in grassy places.
My flowers raise their tiny faces.

By streams my bigger sisters grow,
And smile in gardens, in a row.

I've never seen a garden plot;
But though I'm small,
Forget me not!

~By Cicely Mary Barker~

Wild Forget-Me-Nots

When bees hum in the linden tree
and roses bloom in cottage plots.
Along the brookside banks we see
the blue wild forget-me-nots.

Shy flowers that shun the prying eye -
content to let the daisy hold,
The glances of the passers-by -
with brazen stare of white and gold.

Forget-me-not!
From long ago it stirs the thought
of happier days.
For memories like wildflowers grow -
along the heart's untrodden ways.

MY MAMA's GARDEN

Her heart is like her garden,
Old-fashioned, quaint and sweet,
With here a wealth of blossoms,
And there, a still retreat.

Forget-Me-Nots there linger,
to full perfection brought,
And there bloom purple pansies,
In many a tender thought.

And in that quiet garden,
The garden of her heart,
Songbirds are always singing
Their songs of cheer apart.

And from it floats forever,
O'ercoming sin and strife,
Sweet as the breath of roses blown,
The fragrance of her life.

When the wise God planted His garden

When the wise God planted His garden,
Scattering the seeds from above,
The choicest seed in His packet
Was the flower of Mother-love.

Carefully watched o'er and tended,
Nurtured by sunshine and stronger,
It blooms a beautiful flower.

A flower so sweet and entrancing,
Dazzling and shining and white,
A love that guards us and guides us
Through life our beacon light.

A love that steadies our footsteps,
That stretches a helpful hand,
That comforts our sorrows and heartaches,
That always will understand.

Mother-love, God's gift to His children,
With heavenly fragrance fraught;
The brightest flower in God's garden,
His truest forget-me-not.

God's Masterpiece

From graceful lilies pure and white,
God fashioned lovely skin,
Forget me nots he chose for eyes,
Then formed your baby chin.

He took a tulip bright and red -
'Twas one that did not fade;
A softer, sweeter little mouth
Before was never made.

Another flower next He used -
A rosebud, pink and fair;
Touched it to your dimpled cheeks
And bade it blossom there.

Then with His magic fingers picked
Two morning glories white;
Curled and shaped your little ears,
Soon they were fastened tight.

That crowning bit of golden down
Will soon become your hair;
He gathered pollen from the flowers,
And sprinkled it with care.

For dainty little fingers dear
And precious, tiny toes,
He used slender daisy frills;
A snowdrop made your nose.

This world and all within it
He created here for man;
But Baby was "God's Masterpiece"
Since time and life began!

I Have Seen

I have seen the morning
shining fair atop a green-clad hill.
A robin perched so saucily
upon my windowsill.

A valley where a little stream
just seems to trickle through.
A sunset at the close of day,
amidst a sky of blue.

I have seen a small forget-me-not,
unnoticed by the rest.
A sparkling little dewdrop
that a rosebud loves the best.
A dandelion growing
where it naught shall come to harm.
A peaceful little pathway
where no soul shall feel alarm.

I have often seen tomorrow
as it smiles across the way,
The doubts and fears of living
that are part of each today.

A promise soon forgotten
and a word so lightly said,
A broken heart that's longing
for a treasure long since dead.

I have seen a faith unfailing
and a hope that lives through all.
The loveliness of springtime
and the melancholy fall.

All the beauties life can offer,
all the heartaches life must send.
I have seen God's world of sunshine;
I have shared it with a friend.

FORGET ME NOT

Forget me not
When I am gone.

My memories in stone.
When day is done
And you are all alone
Forget me not

For good times shared.
The nights we were but one
Forget me not.

With each rising moon
And the setting of the sun
Forget me not.

As you grow old
The days, they just seem longer.

Remember with each passing moment
My love for thee is stronger.

FORGET ME NOT QUOTES

Plant a "forget-me-not"
In the garden of your heart
For me.

*****

"THE KEEPSAKE"
...Nor can I find,
amid my lonely walk
By rivulet, or spring,
or wet roadside,
That blue and bright-eyed
flouter of the brook,
Hope gentle gem,
the sweet Forget-me-not!
~by Samuel Taylor Coleridge~
